“Who is eligible for services?”

  • All residents of Lorain County
  • Any Ohio resident with Medicaid
  • Any individual with private health insurance

“What insurance do you accept?”

The Nord Center accepts most insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. Insurance coverage varies, so it is best to check with your insurance provider to determine eligibility for coverage. Self-pay services are also available on a sliding fee scale based on household income, however our Addiction Services program does require insurance coverage. Funds are also available for those without insurance who qualify.

“How do I schedule an appointment?”

To schedule an appointment, call our Intake Line at 440-204-4161 Monday through Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm. Our staff will get some basic information from you – demographic information (name, address, date of birth, etc.), insurance information, and a few questions about the services in which you are interested. Our staff will then help you determine which of our programs and clinicians will be the best fit for you or your family.

“Do you offer walk-in appointments?”

Clients can receive Same Day Access Services via telehealth at The Nord Center, Monday – Friday, by calling into 440-204-4224 by 9 am the day they would like to begin services. Clients will be given the earliest available appointment, typically 9 am is the earliest. On occasion, the first available appointment may not be until early afternoon. If you are not available when you are called for your appointment you are welcome to call back later or another day.

“What should I bring to my first appointment?”

Bring a copy of your insurance card if you have one, verification of income if you don’t have insurance, and a photo ID. If the appointment is for a child or adolescent, bring their birth certificate and any custody papers, if applicable.

“How do I change or cancel an appointment?”

It is important to attend regularly scheduled appointments, however we understand that there are times when you may need to cancel or reschedule. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call our Scheduling Line at 440-204-4224. Cancellations require a minimum of 24-hour notice. A $25 administrative fee may be charged for missed appointments without 24-hour notice. Repeated missed appointments may result in termination of services.
